The Faculty of Education (formerly Moray House Institute of Education) has been providing outdoor education courses for over 30 years. Courses are for undergraduates and postgraduates, and there are unique opportunities for research.

BSc (Honours) in Outdoor Education with Environmental Studies
encourages a broad and integrated understanding of educational and environmental issues and develops practical and professional competence.

Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma in Outdoor Education
balances practical competence in the activities with high professional standards in teaching and programme design and a deep understanding of academic issues. It is one of the key training courses for those entering the field of outdoor education. Graduates are now leading professionals in the field working, for example, as principals of centres or advisors.

Masters (MSc) in Outdoor Education
This degree extends the Postgraduate Diploma with deeper study of particular aspects of Outdoor Education. It is unique in Europe and one of few in the world.

Research Degrees
Doctoral (PhD) students from several countries are studying outdoor education and environmental education topics. There are also opportunities for research study at MSc and MPhil level.
