Looking BEYOND METASEARCH? Search Utilities
You can download and install the latest search
utilities on your own PC.
Depending on the make and version of the software you install, the
benefits can be:
- you can search several search engines at once (i.e.
metasearch)
- the results are not skewed or slowed by advertising
(this may involve a fee to switch it off!)
- you have more control over how the results are
presented (e.g. by URL, by page title or by search engine)
- the pages that appear in the search results can be
downloaded automatically (and then viewed off line)
There is a freeware version of Copernic
99.
Also take a look at:
BullsEye
Mata Hari
and
WebFerret.
